INSHIP Project meets in Évora

The 4th General Assembly of the INSHIP project (Integrating National Research Agendas on Solar Heat for Industrial Processes), took place in Portugal, between January 21st and 23rd, at the University of Évora (UÉ).

The Renewable Energies Chair, at the University of Évora (CER-UÉ), member of the INSHIP partnership, was the organizer of this assembly, which sought to analyze and discuss the eight areas of work of the project, with review of ongoing activities, presentation of reports, approach to tasks and milestones achieved, as well as the schedule of upcoming activities. Started in January 2017, the INSHIP project is approaching the conclusion phase, scheduled for December 31, 2020.

In parallel with the discussion and planning work in the assembly, on January 22nd the program of the event reserved two different activities. First, in the early morning, a visit was made to the CER-UÉ facilities at Herdade da Mitra, in Valverde, to introduce partners to the Solar Concentrator Testing Platform (PECS - Plataforma de Ensaios de Concentradores Solares) and the EMSP - Evora Molten Salt Platform. Followed by the workshop "SSERR - Support Services for the Exploitation of Research Results on PEDR – Plan for the Exploitation and Dissemination of Research". Before, the first half of January 21st was reserved for the general assembly of the Joint Program CSP of EERA - European Energy Research Alliance.

INSHIP is a project coordinated by Fraunhofer ISE, funded by the European Commission's Horizon 2020 programme, which brings together 28 partners from 10 countries (Germany, Austria, Cyprus, Spain, France, Greece, Italy, Portugal, United Kingdom, Switzerland and Turkey) , and seeks to establish connection lines between universities and research centers in these countries, in order to define a common agenda for research on the integration of solar process heat in industry.
