Grant for master for  in the scope of project “LIFE Charcos – Temporary Ponds Conservation in the Southwest Coast of Portugal

Admission requirements:

The candidates should hold a Masters in Biology with a focus on fauna conservation and management ; statistical skills including experience in R software; knowledge with GIS database creation and map algebra, preferably with QGIS; be familiar with connectivity analysis software particularly CONEFOR and circuitscape; broad experience in acoustic bat surveys and identification; experience in amphibian and small mammal surveys; developed research skills, demonstrated by publications in scientific journals; broad experience in report writing; experience in ecological management would be particularly valuable. Excellent English (both oral and written) and communication skills are essential. Candidates must be available to travel and to extended stays in the field, including surveys at night and on weekends; a good physical condition is important. Some degree of autonomy is expected from the candidate.
