Introduction

This Doctoral Program follows principles aimed at the training of researchers with a strong scientific background, highly qualified in solving problems, endowed with a high sense of scientific integrity, with the capacity to communicate with an entrepreneurial spirit, with a high degree of autonomy and ability of continuous learning. In addition to carrying out the research work leading to the preparation of the thesis (210 ECTS), the doctorate must obtain 18 ECTS in optional curricular units and 12 ECTS in optional curricular of transversal competences . They can also attend Seminars, Short Courses and others that are of interest to complete their training and participate in scientific meetings in the area of Landscape Arts and Techniques in which they are expected to submit work. The aim is to encourage and increase the skills of doctoral students and all the skills and abilities required of a candidate for a doctoral degree. These will be evaluated throughout the Program, culminating in the presentation and public discussion of the doctoral thesis, which will be done and evaluated according to the aforementioned regulation for the award of the doctorate degree by the University of Évora. The aim is to strengthen scientific research in order to obtain researchers with ecological, ethical and aesthetic sense, rigor and scientific integrity prepared to design, carry out and evaluate scientific research projects.
